Preacher (Predicador)

MOBILITY

Only aspect where both of them are exactly the same. For not being Acrobat, both have a typical value for them, and the Batcape will let them to leap down from the top of a building without having to pay any MC (when not paying this MC it will be considered a falling, easy to avoid with this trait). Maybe the most remarkable of this is that the Animated version has become the cheapest Batclaw of the game even below Damian Wayne (without having into account team equipment), and everybody knows the mobility provided by it.

It is a good time to see the advantages of the Batcape over the Batclaw. Batclaw spends all the basic movement of the character, so if he/she begins from quite distance of the edge of the building it is possible to waste a full round on the heights because dices doesn't roll enough number to cover that distance. Having a Batcape lets to ignore this because, if this is the case, the 10 cm of the basic movement distance can still be used (or 8 or 12, depending of the character) to descend vertically for 1 SC and continuing moving on the ground.

RANGED ATTACK

Despite of having the same Batlings both of them, their Strength is the most substantial difference among them. While Comic version has 50% chances of damaging with them, the Animated one has only 33% chances and with no option to fail due to she only has 1 Ammo. Its main usage can be destroying lamppost and try to ensure at least 2 contusion damage (and the loss of an action counter) for Just a Scratch! attacking enemies with low defense value.

CLOSE COMBAT ATTACK

Both share the same inconvenience of having Attack 3, although with their Combo With: Unarmed they can realize up to 4 strikes (6 if she has used a Titan Dose) but still blockable with a 67% of chances by the opponent.

Comic version can make this inconvenience to disappear thanks to her Sneak Attack (1 SC), which having Willpower 6 can let her to leap down from a roof (1 MC + 1 SC when using Batclaw, or 1 SC when using Batcape) and strike up to 4 times with no option to block them, even pushing (1 SC) to apart him/her from an objective or provoking a coup, or grabbing (1 SC) so an ally can take advantage of this (such as a outnumbered situation).

On the other hand, the Animated version doesn't have that surprise factor on his attack, but she has a Distract to engage an enemy and try to grab him so his/her Defense is decreased in a -2 at the moment another mate joins the fight (except Martial Artist). It is true that her hits deal no more damage than a single contusion, but it can be a good reason for him try to block them for not having a -2 to his/her Defense, although damaging to 5+ doesn't help so much to succeed on the grab, but at least the enemy will have lost defense counters (even all of them). The inconvenience of this is that only with 5 action counter she can't achieve that on a perfect way, she has to sacrifice 1 attack or descending from the heights using the Batcape and trusting on her 10 cm (supposing she begins on a high place).

DEFENSE

Once again the Animated version has only some of the mechanisms of her "rival" for this task, on her case it is only a value 4 for the Defense and the passive protection against falls given by the Batcape.

In addition to this, Comic version offers something else against ranged and close combat attacks; on the first case for being only visible within 20 cm (Stealth), which added to her Batclaw makes her almost invisible for the rival; on the second case her immunity against Outnumbered situations for being Martial Artist. The other plus point for the Comic version is her Endurance 6, 2 points above her little sister, which means that against double damage attacks such as 2 gun shoots can make her useless during all the game, and being a Free Agent it supposes 4 points if she is killed (3 when KO).

SUPPORT/CONTROL

Totally different on this aspect due to each one offers a different thing. Comic version guarantees an extra passing (Informer), which added with the characters with the trait Detective that can go with her can be a good reason for taking the Batsignal as one of the objectives and having the last word on each round (for turning it on). On the other hand, the Animated version offers support for the combat with her Distract, although for this she must be exposed to the enemy (10 cm).

SUMMARY

What is sure is that Batgirl is not a character focused to deal tons of damage on the enemy, but useful for easing that task to her mates (by Grabbing), or denying the enemy controlling objectives (by Pushing), in addition to have both of them a great mobility thanks to the combination of Batclaw + Batcape + Movement 3.

Comic version is perfect for controlling as soon as possible her Titan Container (which can be even better if the Ammo Crate is moved with Change of Plans (1/D), so both of the can be controlled at the same time) thanks to her Defense 4 + Stealth + Martial Artist, in addition to being able to strike up to 6 times if she decides to use a Titan Dose, in addition to increase her Strength to 3+ and her Defense to 5, although her damage is still a single contusion, so on this cases she is perfect for applying Push to the annoying enemy denying her controlling the objective.

On the other hand, the Animated version is perfect for going with somebody more aggressive, specially Batwoman in Law Force due to until now nobody empowered her, taking advantage of her Distract and Grabs to apply up to a -2 to the enemy Defenses.

MOVILIDAD

ATAQUE CUERPO A CUERPO

BMG Comparing Deadshot

Hello everybody.
After having seen with more detail this new Deadshot inspired in the Comics, it is time now for comparing him with his Arkham City version. Although this new version is more expensive in reputation and costs the double of founding, it is also true that his destruction power may end up with some ease with a slab as it can be the Batmobile.

As always, first of all a summarized comparison:

MOBILITY

On this aspect there is not so much to say, bot have the same value 3 for this attribute, which is a more typical value for Acrobat characters.

RANGED ATTACK

Beginning with long range, Arkham City version can't do anything. Regarding Comic version, his Barret is lethal due to the combination of the 4 lethal wounds it can deal (7 when critical hit), its Night Vision and being able to ignore all the Pings! thanks to its Scope, in addition with its perforation power for being Anti-Tank, which becomes it in the worst enemy for anyone with any kind of Armour and not only because it ignores them, also because it repeats failed injury rolls against them, in addition to ignore also Bulletproof and Kevlar Vest and Hardened. To all this is must be added a +1 to impact rolls for being Ranged Master. On the other hand, it has the handicap of not letting him to move in the same round he has used it because of its Aim, so this is the reason why its another disadvantage should be taken into account and moving during the round he has to Reload the weapon.

For medium and short range, if Comic version can't use his Barret then he is in a bad position compared with his "rival". Although both of them are equipped with the 9 mm Twin Cannons, Arkham City version can combine them with his Night Vision, being able to ignore 1 Ping! for being Shooter in addition to the possibility of increasing the difficult of the rest of them in 1 point for Expert Marksman (1 SC). If he doesn't move he can deal up to 6 blood damage, and if he does he can still shot with ROF 2 thanks to his Rapid Fire (1 SC). Meanwhile, Comic version only has in advantage his +1 to impact with ranged attacks for being Ranged Master, although if he can use his Barret, he is still much better than Arkam City.

But this section can't be closed without talking about the big handicap of Comic version, and it is his Obssessive which forces him to focus the same target until he puts him KO (or death). This inconvenient can be easily solved by killing an easy target with Endurance 4 (and Defense 2-3 because for him there are still impact rolls to 2+), although a 1 either impact or damage can become him useless if the enemy puts that target inside a sewer. Most common will be to harass the enemy Boss mainly for his Assassin/3 that will grant him 3 VP more if he kills him, and useful also for dealing against annoying characters such as Free Agents, Sidekicks...

Another subtle difference among them is their quantity of ammo, Comic version has 5 clips in total: 3 for the Barret and 2 for his Twin Cannons, while Arkham City version can shot one time less with 4 clips for his Twin Cannons.

CLOSE COMBAT ATTACK

Assuming that Deadshot is not thought for that and having into account he only has his bare hands, Arkham City version can be more useful in support tasks by pushing or grabbing an enemy due to his combination of Attack 4 and Strength 4+.

If he is engaged in close combat (or any enemy is within 5 cm of him) he can still use his 9 mm Twin Cannons thanks to be Light, and once again Arkham City version is dangerous for his Rapid Fire, without forgetting that even in close combat distance not everybody can avoid shots, only characters with Dodge. Once again, the good point of Comic version is his +1 to impact, but only with 1 dice.

DEFENSE

Both are exactly the same with a value 3 for this attribute and the ability to avoid ranged attacks (Dodge) also with value 3 (in Movement), which gives him up to 3 options with a 50% of chances. The only difference is the extra point in Endurance for Comic version

APOYO/CONTROL

On this aspect Arkham City version has nothing to offer; not the same than Comic version whose Outlaw Field Commander is a great benefit for any ally within 10 cm (it is not necessary to see him/her) without the limitation of only Henchmen, although without being able to exceed the maximum allowed of counters for that action.

SUMMARY

For long range, Comic version is not only the best, he is the only one with resources for that. For both Medium and Short range, if the Barret can' be used, Arkham City version has more mechanisms for being effective (he only loses the +1 to impact compared with his "brother"). Also, Comic version can even empower allies giving to one of them an extra counter, although his Obsessive forces him to focus on a single target until he/she is taken down, but well played it can be a deterrent tool.

Greetings and we keep reading in La Biblioteca de Alfred and Reino de Juegos.

BMG Comparativa Deadshot

ATAQUE CUERPO A CUERPO

BMG: Analysis Deadshot Comic

Hello everybody.
With Suicide Squad film near, it is time now for one of the most famous of its members, one of the world's greatest assassins: Deadshot, on his comic version and with a role more focused in long distance attacks. The most remarkable thing is his elevated cost in both terms, totally opposed to the Arkham City version, although he still maintains the hate for the "good" guys in addition to Joker's crew.
Beginning with his Mobile aspect, the only remarkable thing is his value 3 for Movement, a characteristic value for Acrobat characters.

In offensive tasks, this new Free Agent is armed with the most lethal weapon know until today, a long range rifle (Barret) able to deal up to 4 lethal wounds, and this damage can be even 7 if an always circumstantial critical hit is rolled. The first impact of this is that with a single shot he can take down the weakest characters of the game: the ones with Endurance 4 such as almost all the Henchmen, Catwoman Animated, Harley Quinn Animated... But not all are advantages, due to the lack of Good Aim in Floyd, and the Aim of his weapon, he can't take a good position and shoot in the same round, for doing this he must take advantage of the other handicap of the weapon to find a good position during the round he must Reload it, beginning with a good deployment on the board. Other of the good points of this rifle is his power of perforation (Anti-Tank), and not only because it ignores Bulletproof and Kevlar Vest in addition to Hardened, also because it can repeat damage rolls against enemies with some kind of Armour in addition to ignore it, which makes it almost 100% effective against this kind of targets; that means this weapon is the worst enemy for the Batmobile, in addition to impact it to 2+ (Ranged Master). But this weapon won't be as lethal if it wasn't for its Scope, which added to the Night Vision he gains when using it also lets him to ignore all the Pings! (only with this weapon).

For medium range, or just for being able to shoot during the round he is reloading his Barret, Floyd is also armed with his characteristic 9 mm Twin Cannons which deal half damage than the other weapon if he moves before shooting, otherwise it has the same lethality thanks to its ROF 2, and its range is still good (40 cm). It can also be used in close combat although only with 1 single shot, but on this case he can't see beyond 30 cm.

In addition to all this it must be added the +1 to impact for ranged attacks thanks to be Ranged Master, trait that replaces the old Master Marksman. But not everything is as perfect as it seems with this new Floyd Lawton, his Mental Disorder (Obsessive) is his big handicap because at the moment he attacks an enemy model, until he doesn't let him KO or dead he must continue attacking him, although looking at the damage of his weapon he will send them directly to the morgue. The easiest way to solve this issue is attacking the first enemy Henchmen with Endurance 4 he can, kill him, and solve this issue for the rest of the game, but destiny is unpredictable and any 1 on the dices can ruin this plan, after that the enemy only has to put that Henchmen on a sewer and 90 points would have been neutralized. His other potential target should be the enemy Boss, mainly because his Assassin/3 grants him 3 extra VP is he/she is killed, and if the enemy prefers to put him out of danger at least Floyd will have dissuaded him/her for going "out" of the game; lesser extend to any Sidekick, Free Agent or a really annoying character.

Defensively talking he has the same problem as his "brother", if he is hunted in close combat he can have a bad time, although despite of the accumulation of damage he is one of those characters still able to do his main task: to shoot. On the same way, against ranged attacks he can still have up to 3 chances, with 50% on each one, of avoiding them for Dodge.

Lastly, in terms of Support/Control , his Obsessive well used gives him certain control, preferably over the enemy Boss to take advantage of his Assassin/3 if possible, specially if he/she has been damaged with the first shot mainly because for almost all the characters in the game 4 wounds are almost the 50% of their life, in addition with the 2 action counters lost; a certain shot can force the rival to rethink continuing advancing with that character or conversely putting him away from the danger. On the other hand, Floyd is a great ally for all his partners, not only Henchmen as it use to happen with this kind of traits, his Outlaw Field Commander lets, once per round, to add an extra counter on an ally within 10 cm (it doesn't matter if he can't see him) although without exceeding the allowed limit for the section where it is put, this trait invites to continue advancing with Deadshot for trying to use it during all the rounds.

This analysis couldn't be closed without talking about Hugo Strange, and this is because the crazy condition of Floyd Lawton. The governor of the prison built for super criminals, more known as Arkham City, can be a great ally due to all the benefits he applies to all the characters with this kind of "disease". In the case of Floyd he can be interested on Hugo's Subliminal Suggestion (2 SC) for moving him even if he has used his Barret, to search for a new shooting position; he can also used his Arkham Asylum DR (1 SC) to give him an extra counter (and on this case it is possible to exceed the limit) specially in Movement either for moving more or having more protection against ranged attacks (it can also be in Attack or Defense, but having into account the most common is to have Deadshot far away of the combat, the most common will be use it for Movement). Also, both him and two of the versions of Scarecrow (Arkham City and Christopher Nolan) can calm temporarily his insanity thanks to their Pyschoanalisys (1 SC).

Summarizing, Deadshot is a character 100% focused in ranged attacks, and this version more concretely from long distance due to his Barret allows him to see without distance limitation and ignore all the Pings! (Scope), althoguh he is still dangerous from the middle distance because in both cases he can deal up to 4 lethal wounds with a +1 to impact rolls fro being Ranged Master (in the case of the Barret it can be up to 7 wounds if he rolls a critical hit). Even his big handicap can turn into an advantage if it is properly used, which means to focus on the rival Boss, partly because if he kills him/her he wins 3 extra VP (Assasin/3), and also because Deadshot can control big areas of the map where he doesn't like to see the enemy on it, which can force him to change his plans with one of his most valuable miniatures, in addition to be almost disabled. Floyd is also a good support for any close mate (not only Henchmen) thanks to the extra counter he/she can win due to his Outlaw Field Commander.
