BMG Arkham Knight Expansion: First thoughts

Hi to everyone.

Last night, Luis, a staff member Knight Models was interviewed on Turno Cu4tro podcast, of which our friend Darel from El Sobaco de Batman is an occasional collaborator, dropping on what the next expansion for Batman Miniature Game is about: a campaign mode Inspired by the video game Arkham Knight.
Personally, as a lover of this video game saga, some of the things I would like to see would be:

  • Obviously, can recreate the different missions that form the plot structure of this last installment and, why not, also the secondary missions.
  • As part of these missions, to enjoy the Predator mode, would it be possible to pose a Batman mode vs. several enemies?
  • One of the main novelties in this last installment of the saga, was introduced the use of the dreaded Batmovil, why not give it a bonus to this already existing model, and have exclusive missions for it?
  • When talking about a campaign mode, and with a background as marked as this, it is impossible not to consider an evolutionary mode of the character, do you imagine a configurable Batman with the infinite options offered by the video game?
  • See new villains like Professor Pyg, and why not his Dollotrons, or the much-desired Manbat.

Apart from this, they also discussed a couple of things closely related to the Suicide Squad box. The most striking were:
  • Indeed, the buildings included in the box are just the beginning of a new product line. Finally we can all have good game tables with presumably cheap scenery.
  • In principle, nothing in the box is going to be sold separately.
Finally, and although it was expected to know some detail more about the game of Harry Potter that is to come, Luis did not release anything. Well, just one detail that I think we all expected: yes, there will be miniature of Harry himself.

As we learn more about this new expansion (or the Harry Potter Miniature Game), we will inform you.

What do you expect in this campaign?

Greetings and we keep reading in La Biblioteca de Alfred and Reino de Juegos.

BMG: Analysis Heat Wave

Hi to everyone.
If the other day was the turn of Captain Cold, it's time to analyze his criminal partner (and never better said), Mick Rory's Heatwave as played on the Flash TV series (and Legends Of Tomorrow) by Dominic Purcell. His case is totally opposite to Snart, instead of offering control, Mick offers endurance and punch. At 65/$300 he's 10/$100 below Cold, and as him he can be hired as Free Agent by any villain crew with the exception of Joker and League of Shadows. In spite of having Willpower 6, at the moment that Rory achieves his first KO or casualty this one will be increased to 7 since he is a Criminal.
In the Offensive plane, in spite of carrying a ranged weapon, the short range of this makes it dangerous in close distances, where in addition to his Flamethrower also has a Reinforced Gloves so that their punches are really painful causing also the typical loss of counter for every successful wound due to double damage of his hits (), and although it is true that his Force 4+ foresee that only half of his hits will hurt, his Attack 4 next to Teamwork/2 with Captain Cold cause him to hit up 6 times, although the ideal would be 4 + 1 so that at least Cold could shoot. When considered unarmed attacks, he is a firm candidate for Grab (1SC) rivals

With respect to his only weapon, and ranged (Flamethrower), the great strength of this one is in that being of template applies the effects without having to hurt, and since the impacts are automatic only those that have Dodge (or someone Protected by a Bodyguard) have an option to avoid the harmful Fire effect, lethal especially in characters that have already activated.

In Defensive tasks his value 3 makes it an affordable target, but his Endurance 8 along with not losing counters every 2 wounds but every 3 (Sturdy), force the opponent to focus on him with more than one of his members if he wants to finish with him before he reaches the distance to do damage. As a good criminal he is, he can not be arrested thanks to trait Runaway, just as he is immune to Grabs for being Escape Artist.

Finally, in the case of Heat Wave the main use of his Teamwork/2 will be to supply Captain Cold or hit more times, although if you have both in range to attack, his would be to spend only 1AC of Cold so that he can still shoot.

In short, Mick Rory is a 100% offensive character intended for short distances, either beating with his Reinforced Gloves up to 4 +2 times (4 for his Attack value and 2 more thanks to Teamwork with Captain Cold), although hurting with 50% of options (Strenght 4+). For the distance has his Flamethrower, whose range is dictated by the template Expansive, and that in spite of wounding 3+ (Mechanic) allows to apply Fire to everything affected without having to hurt, this means that unless rivals with Dodge or protected with Bodyguard , everything that is under the template automatically takes a marker of this type.

His ability to fit punches is also praiseworthy since despite having only Defense 3, between his Endurance 8 and being Sturdy force the opponent to insist on he so that it is no longer a threat, in addition to being unable to be Grab (Escape Artist) nor arrested (Runaway), forcing the rival to kill him yes or yes.

Painting step by step: Guardians of the Galaxy Second Part

Rocket
We start by washing with a base of Eshin Grey to give a dry brush with Astronomican Grey to give the base.

After we'll do a wash with Abaddon Black. The following will be illuminate with Adeptus Battlegrey and then a mixture 50% with some Astronomican.

For the lighter parts of the fur we'll gice a base of Astronomican Grey illuminating increasingly Skull White.

If you want you can give a last light to the skin, hands and head with Adeptus Battlegrey mixing with Flayed One Flesh, to give a more "human" touch.

Clothes
The base layers are explained in Gamora.

We'll mix the Red Gore with Wild Red Rider for lights, then mix it with Blazing Orange and finally with Fiery Orange.

For the knee pads we'll use Fire Dragon Bright and we'll illuminating with Flash Gitz Yellow.

Weapons
We will use the traditional gradient from Boltgun Metal> Chainmail> Mithril Silver and washing with Agrax Earthshade (I put pictures if you ask for it).
For details of the weapons I decided to paint two small areas with green and purple colors chosen to give uniformity.
Base layer of Green Knarloc illuminated with larger amounts of Scorpion Green to give to each layer.

For the lilac zone of the gun we'll do the same of the Gamora`s hair but changing Druchi Violet ink instead of black wash.

(End of the second part)

PINTANDO PASO A PASO A LOS GUARDIANES DE LA GALAXIA (Segunda parte)

Rocket

Painting step by step Diablo

Second member from the Squad that I paint (the first one was Deathstroke, here you have the link for your interest), this time from the new Game Box.

Surface Primer
I primed it with black and white to have an idea where the lights were going to be.

Skin
For the skin we will use Tallarn Flesh (I'm still having this Citadel Foundation, but if you didn't Bugman's Glow will fit, although it will be a little darker). We will make a wash with Gryphonne Sepia, to give him a little bit toasted tone. We will light it with Tallarn and the last light mixed with Elf Flesh at 1:1 (If you want more acute lights you only need to add little by little the Elf Flesh while making them).

Tattoos
For the tattoos I recommend you to use the finest brush you have and make some practice in a paper before painting them. I started doing the skull tattoos with Abaddon Black, using the well defined parts from the miniature. Then I wrote the letters "AB" on the chin and after I did the rest letters on the jaw. If you made some mistakes don't panic, we can correct them by using Flayed One Flesh (that we will used it to make an extra light in the face).
We will use the Abbadon Black very diluted in water to give a thin cape with it where the hair is going to be.
Finally we will use Flayed One Flesh and Abbadon Black to paint the eyes.
This is the most complicated part of the whole miniature, because we need to be extremely careful doing the tattoos. Don't worry if you spend a lot of time here, all the effort will be rewarded.
T-shirt
For the base colour we will use Krieg Khaki. For the firsts lights Ceramite White. To give him a more natural tone we will make a wash with Gryphonne Sepia. After doing that we will be doing some lights with Krieg Khaki and adding more and more Ceramite White every time.

Jacket
We are going to start with the darkest part using Necron Abyss (or another blue-almost-black that we have) as the base colour, we will be using more and more Dawnstone to do the lights. To make it more unified and make the jacket a little darker we are going to use a very diluted Abaddon Black.
For the sleeves we will use Ice Blue mixed with Abaddon Black as the base colour, we will make the lights with Ice Blue and Blue Horror as the last light. We are doing so because of the pastel tones that the miniature has itself.

We could let the jacket like that, but we will add some lines with Averland Sunset and Dorn Yellow (as you can see we are still using the pastel tones).

Trousers
We will use Dawnstone (or Codex Grey) as the base colour. We will make an Agrax Earthshade wash. Making the lights with Dawnstone, and the last lights with Administratum Grey (or Fortress Grey).

Fire
To do the fire we will be painting lights from Ceramite White, Dorn Yellow, Golden Yellow, Fiery Orange, Blazing Orange, Rhinox Hide and the last retouch with Dawnstone to mimic the ashes. Again, as many colours we will use and mix in every step, as better results we will get.

Chain and Wobbles
For the chain we will use Leadbelcher as the base colour, the first light whit Chainmail (or Ironbreaker), a wash with Abaddon Black, using again Chainmail for the lights and the last light with Mithril Silver (or Runefang Steel).
Before painting the wobbles we will paint the base not to paint them accidentally.
For the blue part we are going to use the same colours as we used to paint the sleeves in the jacket, but we are going to use an Agrax Earthshade wash and a last light with Blue Horror. For the white parts we will use Flayed one Flesh before an Agrax wash (we can do that before doing the wash for the blue part and save up some time), then we will make the lights with Flayed again and the last light with Ceramite White.

That's the end of the first member of the Squad from the Game Box!! Thank you very much for reading this step by step and, for those of you that aren't following me, I recommend you to do so on insta.
